Not as young as me my lovely. Not as young as me. ;o)

Having a better day today, now that the 2nd attempt at a mortgage is underway. We're going for Nationwide this time. They pay less attention to your total debts, and look more at what you can afford a month. This looks much better when you see that Jo and I are paying £15 less in rent than the estimated mortgage repayments! Fingers crossed, touching wood and touching cloth.

Iraq is again in the news today. Baghdad is liberated, hoorah! I got into the spirit by making some anims for b3ta about the Iraqi information minister. He's been in the news making silly claims, such as "No, the American's aren't in Iraq. Not at all." and "White is Black" etc....

I've linked so as to not ruin the endings with what's to come in the latter ones. I have an idea for one more, which I'll do over the next couple days at some point.

I have decided that financial advisors/institutions love to make you squirm. The mortgage people really wanted to write "you've got no money and we've got loads. ps you're having none of it na na na na na!"
I'm not even sure about the whole "being in debt for 25 years " thing anyway, seems a bit too scary to me. I'm only young after all.

Bugger. Had a letter in the post this morning saying we've (i.e. I) have too much debt to allow us the mortgage we want, hence they've said no. We're gonna have to try with someone else. Watch this space.

Monday again. Bit of an relatively uneventful weekend, but enjoyable because of it.

Left the leaving do quite early on Friday, as Jo and I were famished. We'd have eaten in the pub, but the kitchen was closed (and the front door locked temporarily) due to possible football related violence. We ended up in Pizza Express. Not been there for ages, not since the diet started at least. I was usual predictable self and went for the pepperoni (or Stromboli as they called it). It was fat drizzled heaven!

Saturday, and lunch with the boys; Gavin and James. I must have misunderstood the game plan, as Gavin had brought his girlfriend, so I invited Jo along. Nice to get together again, although the girls didn't understand any of the in jokes from our year together at Hewlett Packard. Nevertheless I think they had a good time.

Bid 'em farewell after a few hours and made our way home in the lovely sunshine. It was weather like Saturdays which makes me extremely impatient at not having ahouse with a garden yet. Still, we have the balcony which is nice enough. Got a few hours sunning in. Jo is now brown, whilst thanks to my gingerness I'm still a milky white/transparent hue.

Sunday started off well enough. I was going to forego Karate, and Jo the gym in order to take her bike over to Prospect Park. After an hour of procrastinating, half an hour of finding the pump and fixing her brakes we decided that the weather looked shitty, and gave up. Instead we went to look at what the new furniture store 'Peter Green' had to offer. Also rented a playstation game, which we decided was crap after only 5 minutes. For the rest of the evening we alternately watched tv/play on the PC (plus Jo had a stomach upset and massive bouts of wind into the bargain).

Woke this morning to find a memorandum of sale for the new house in the post. That's cheered me up, although I'm still convinced that all estate agents and solicitors are slimy procrastinating gits (my brother included - he's doing the conveyancing by the way).
